I'm watching this movie now for the first time ever and I'm at the bike-riding segment with the zombies. And I've laughed out loud several times because for some reason I find it hilarious. Is it meant to be slightly comedic or am I missing something completely? Maybe it's because I'm completely desensitised to zombie horror (having seen REC and 28 Days Later millions of times) but I honestly thought the whole segment was just funny.

The Truth Is Out There
As soon as I saw the zombies, I sighed. It's kind of hard to be scare/intimidated/whatever by something we see all the time. That being said, I thought the whole movie was kinda goofy. The first one wasn't exactly a masterpiece, but it at least it tried to achieve an atmosphere/mood conducive to horror. This one just lacked the appropriate tone. I don't think the filmmakers were going for horror-comedy, but it felt that way throughout. Even if they were going for horror-comedy, they still failed, because there were no jokes anyhow.
