Much preferred this to the first VHS

For starters, each of the stories was at least solid. I liked the "Clinical Trials" segment and I loved the zombie story! I would sit and rewatch any of these segments again.

Same. I've got the three of them all right here, and I've been watching them in order for the first time. I just finished this one and enjoyed it a bit more than the first, though I still like the first. On to the third...

I hated this movie the first time I saw it. But after a second viewing I realized it wasn't quite as bad as I thought it was so I raised my rating just a bit. The first film is still better for me, though.

I think the first one is better put together. But this one has better scares (particularly the first and last segments).

I'm not a big fan of jump scares, but for some reason, the ones in those segments really work well.

The original one is great. This one is awesome. These two movies are terrific movies shot in found footage style. Can't wait to see the third instalment!

You're in for a disappointment. Viral is a pile of crap. It had one good story in it, and even that's debatable.

I liked the first one much more. Felt more real (the first one with the banshee woman still gets to me, like I actually witnessed this happening). The only weak segment was the last one with the four guys at a house. It goes on too long when the movie should be winding up. No need to show them walking down every sidewalk in real time.

There's probably more scares in VHS 2, but a lot of the segments started to get absurd. I didn't like the idea of the demon and aliens (and the suits looked cheap). In VHS 1, it almost tried to convince you the depraved and wtf things you saw were real, and somebody really caught this footage. Whereas in VHS 2, it started to feel too much like a scripted Hollywood production. I almost like the rough-around-the-edges feel of VHS 1.

I agree. This second one seem more like a collection of stories, than actual found footage. I am fine with that, but it looses much of the appeal the first one (and this type of moviemaking) has.

I think the movie makers knew this because even the connecting story was a little meah, or much less ambiguous if compared to the connecting story in the the first one

I disagree. I liked the first one. The demon and aliens in this one seemed too cartoonish
