Writer of movie invented more then Joy. Great story ruined by hack

How was this writer allowed to makes up so many lies/story's? We all understand that certain things are changed in movies. But no idea how can make up legal issues that never happened, not even in fiction would this happen. Scene were Deniro tells her to sign bankruptcy papers seemsed so silly (I wasn't even sure if true) but just seemed fake and made up for drama. And every single thing in that scene was. Making up more obstacles/hardships for a person trying to make an invention, is flat out stupid.

He had the permission to do so from the real Joy.

But a version of the legal troubles DID happen. The made up scene of her confrontation in Texas with that guy screwing her over was a two minute summary of an entire lawsuit she won in court against her own father.

Except that it actually happened in reality, including the follow up sequence with her in the hotel going over all the documents. Of course, nothing in the movie played out exactly, beat for beat, as the movie shows, but that almost never happens anyway.

Making up more obstacles/hardships for a person trying to make an invention, is flat out stupid.

Whining about things that actually happened is also flat out stupid. You actually didn't bother to criticize a single thing that was completely made up.

Forget the truth vs fiction aspect of it. How about the fact this is arguably the worst script written for a major movie in many years? I can't remember ever watching a movie and cringing more often. Where Silver Linings Playbook was cute and at times funny, this was just awful. If not for Virginia Madsen's character, this movie would have been turned off in the first ten minutes. A true failure on every level, true or not.

Parents do that to their kids and I think it more or less makes them feel what life really is. Now days, parents tell their kids they will pay for their college and the kid ends up having to bear through college and pay it through loans.
