Any other shows similar to this worth watching?

I thought this was really good. I like those kind of bleak, grim shows. It can give us a different insight. Shows don't always have to be happy and light-hearted. Sometimes these kinds can be more realistic.

Anyways, list out a few other shows like this. Dark, grim, bleak, miserable etc. I'm in the mood.

True Detective, The Killing, Top Of The Lake and The Fall also go into the same empathic direction. Some more realistic, some more stylized, some more plot driven. But all worth watching.

Try Red Riding:

from wiki:

Red Riding (2009) is a three-part television adaptation of English author David Peace's Red Riding Quartet (1999–2002).

Set against a backdrop of serial murders during 1974–1983, including the Yorkshire Ripper killings, the books and films follow several recurring fictional characters through a bleak and violent world of multi-layered police corruption and organised crime. Although real-life crimes are referenced, the plot is fiction rather than a documentary or factual account of events. Both the books and films mix elements of fact, fiction and conspiracy theory – a confection dubbed "Yorkshire Noir" by some critics – and are notable for a chronologically fractured narrative and for defying neat or trite endings and resolutions. (Yorkshire, Britain's largest county, is broken into three administrative areas known as the Ridings — North, East, and West. There is no "Red" Riding, except in the metaphorical sense.)

So well done, but extremely violent and with a beyond-shocking ending. Only for those with nerves of steel. And an excellent gag reflex.

Have you seen Happy Valley? A bit dark, but good acting & delivery.

I liked Southcliffe's soundtrack as well. I do not see any info about it but would love to know more.

Broadchurch (Very depressing show :(...)
Wallander (Very atmospheric & bleak feelings pervade this Series, very creepy killings)
Hinterland (More creepy killings ensue...in Wales!)
Durham County (Also super creepy...the whole town is, in this underrated Canadian series!)
Luther (Super creepy killers abound...1 gave me nightmares! Involves hiding under a bed)
Rectify (Family feels doomed from the get-go...I predict no happy-ending for this show!)
Les Revenants (original French version - more creepy than bleak)
The Killing (always raining, always depressing, but in a good way... ;P)
Hannibal (Super creepy killers again..who apparently all went to The Dead Body School of Art?? Very creative killers in this show! Haha! ;P)
The Walking Dead (Warning! Never get attached to any character! Hahaha! ;))
Twin Peaks (Town is mysterious & bleak...initial murder investigation is super sad and creepy (I'm sensing a trend amongst these shows) but then the show just gets silly. :(
The Office (UK Version - Yes, it's a comedy - but a very poignant & sad one really...that intro kills me every time)

(definitely concur with above poster who recommended 'True Detective'...that show was super bleak and dark...same goes for 'The Fall'...almost couldn't get through the 2nd Series it was so grim and disturbing!)

Light a fire, a fire, a spark
Light a fire, a flame in my heart

Assuming you are in the US, Hulu Plus has The Bridge, the original Swedish/Danish detective story. Americans made a remake of it set on the Mexican border, but it's the original you want to see. Absolutely fabulous.
