Best of the year so far

Of all this year's movies I've seen so far, it's the best! "Grand Budapest Hotel" was my previous fave, but this movie blew that one out of the water! It's got everything, laughs, tears, plenty plenty of tears, heart-stopping suspense, questions of race, nationality, religion, belonging, mourning, redemption, gender. And then there's the existential questions of perseverance and faith versus the odds and versus talent. The physicality of humans versus the mindset and connection of a group of people. It's truly a new "David and Goliath" story. The direction, editing, and camera-work are equally amazing. I felt like it was raining in front of the screen! A must see!

I agree. This was amazing. I also would love to go to American Samoa now! The people were all awesome. I was cheering the team on.

The balance of showing the passion of the island, the culture and the pride was amazing.

It makes you wonder how many of these small islands have pride like that? Bigger countries I think can get up themselves a bit and these people just seem to enjoy their lives.
