The Camaro was an automatic

Automatic transmission Camaro? Seriously?

I always think the same thing when I see sports cars with them in movies, how "bad ass" can a dude be driving an auto. At least these movies have the idea of the guy just finding the car and not picking it out himself. I'd rather find a Jeep myself. Go anywhere, parts everywhere and made easy to fix as long as it's not a power-trans issue... You see a lot of the "muscle" cars from that era automatic. I knew a guy in the mid 90s that wanted to buy a new Corvette and couldn't find one with a clutch on any lot in Dallas, they told him it had to be special ordered... At least this movie car didn't go back and forth from standard and auto like the Bandit's Trans Am, I'm sure that was due to them only having one or two of them.

Yes nothing is more manly than using a "stick shift"....smh the fact people still believe this cracks me up. Acting like its rocket science to know how to drive a manual....I got news for you its super easy so you can stop feeling cool because you, like a crapload of people (myself included) can drive manual.

There's heaps of automatics in America. Most muscle cars sold were automatic anyway. A lot of people in America can't actually drive stick. The only automatic I've owned was a 1971 Charger.

Many people know how to drive a manual just fine but choose not to. Why? You try doing that on a daily basis in stop and go traffic. It gets old really quick.
