Does anyone have any information about this movie?

I have been thinking about all the YA books to movie adaptions (and maybe this is a children's book but it is a part of that trend n my opinion) and I remembered this since I loved it when I was a child. I just googled this for fun but I did not expect that is actually getting made. So does anyone know any facts about this movie?

Thanks for that info. It seems like it might be out sooner then I thought.
I wonder why they didn't write who was cast as rocky?
They even wrote the dog cast. Why not him?

He is not very famous, even. Rocky is Jadon Carnelly Morris.
