Masons

Being a 32Degree Mason I reconnise the placement of the 3 rocks. .they allude to the 3 gates of King Solomons castle. We ARE NOT Devil worshipers The G stands for GOD !

Roconnise? Lol

is it necessary to make fun of typos?

reply

That's NOT a "typo". That's an egregious spelling error.
I RECOGNIZE stupidity when it blatantly exposes itself.
It's sad that what could have been a really engaging and interesting story has been stupefied by "Ghost Mine". It's not surprising that the few fans of this show are not too bright either.

^^^Unhappy spelling nazi.

You'd figure that a "32nd Degree" mason would know that the G stands for Geometry, the 5th Science. Not at all for God.

My dad has been a Mason since I was 2 and I'm now 45. My husband is a Mason and my late father-in-law was as well. I grew up around the Masons and I was always told that the "G" stands for both God and geometry. So the 32nd Degree Mason is correct; at least according the hundred or so Masons I know.

As taken from the Masonic Lodge of Education.

The Masonic letter G reminds us that our every act is done in the sight of the Great Architect of the Universe.

"By letters four and science five, this ā€œGā€ aright doth stand, in due Art and Proportion; you have your answer, friend.ā€

What are the "letters four"? It is believed that they stand for "YHWH", the name of the Great Architect of the Universe (pronounced "Yahway". (sometimes pronounced Jehovah) in the ancient Hebrew language, from which the Bible was translated:

Which is the 5th science? Geometry.

The Letter G stands for "Geometry", which is the mathematical science upon which Architecture and Masonry were founded.

When did the letter G become part of the Square and Compass? No one knows exactly, but it is believed to be somewhere between 1730 and 1768, here in the United States. The "G" is not used in the center of the square and compasses in all jurisdictions around the world.
