Tom Hardy

He is amazing as Alfie Solomons. I honestly think he deserves an Emmy nomination for his performance in the third season.

reply

Absolutely.

Read about he is married in real life to May. To bad Tommy didn't end up with her.

reply

Yes. A sensational job

Had a little hate in Series 2 but I think that was put to bed in Series 3. He is still in Cillian's shadow and if anyone deserves an award it is him.

reply

He's also in Paul Anderson's shadow, the portrayal of both Arthur and Tommy has been second to none. Alfie does get some of the show stopping lines but I never forget that I'm watching an actor playing a character. I can't say that I've felt that with anyone else on this show.

reply

I agree. I don't believe his 'Alfie', too me he's Tom Hardy in disguise doing a loud accent.

If I close my eyes and listen Alfie Solomons he sounds like the crazy brother Kray in Legend. . Sometimes even facial expressions are the same.
Has somebody else has the same thoughts?

Not in all dialogues though. The scene with Tommy, where Alfie explains the loosing a child in their world is normal, is one of the several where I see Alfie Solomons as show he is.

Other than that he is very good as usual.

reply

Even though I hear Bane everytime Alfie talks, I agree its an awesome character. The more screen time he gets the better.

reply

Crazily over the top, but a lot of fun.

He’s wickedly showy, like Hardy is supposed to have a ball with the role above anything else. But goddamn he acts the hell out of the part and owns it.

Amazingly great character and performance. Every gangster film/show has to have a wild character like this, and if you ask me Hardy plays Alfie the way he was meant to. A bonafide scene stealer.

reply

when he totes up the charges to betray his good, good friend tommy at the fight, that was hilarious
