France's Conroy, perfectly cast as Mother Maybelle

I thought this was a well done project from Lifetime. France's Conroy was a stand-out as Mother Maybelle Carter. She grounded me, quickly as the most believably acted character. Interesting to see two actors from the "American Horror Story" do so well in yet another tribute to the Carter/Cash legacy. I say ""Keep trying." There is a wealth of material between both families to explore. Not bad, Jewel. Where are the musical credits on imdb for this project?

I should add that with Connie Britton shining so brightly in "Nashville" this past season, that makes at least 3 American Horror cast members whom have subtly interwoven horror with country music. That insignificant fact is a fun one. How's about a movie on Showtime about the Louvin Brothers, with Dylan McDermott and Evan Peters?

I agree with you. I haven't seen her play anyone this well since 6FU. Damn, I miss that show.

Oh, isnt it funny how diff we all are? I love Nashvillle, but think Connie Britton is lackluster on stage and during the non musical scenes is better. But i do like her. This mother maybelle got a thumbsdown...she was droll and cranky. Mama Maybelle was nothing like that.
