Lasse recognizing Merete

How did Lasse recognize the grown up Merete on TV before her name popped up on screen? There is no way he would have would recognized her since last time he saw her was at 8 years old. Goof, perhaps?

when she was on tv, they put her name up on the screen. he would have remembered her name, and now he knows what she looks like, after seeing the tv show.

No he recognised her BEFORE the name came up, thats what Im saying. How was that possible to know what she looks like without knowing her name??

Your grasping at straws. He looked at the young girl in the car directly. Then saw her after the accident dancing in the forest. When she came on TV he recognized something about her (in her eyes) and maybe wondered. When they put her name up, he knew. He also has a lot of newspaper clippings - maybe he knew what she looked like all along. It's not clear when he started clipping.
