Mixing in english when talking?
Is it typical Bollywood-movie or just the new fresh and cool way to speak on the streets of India?

I always find it funny when foreigners show surprise at the amount of English mixed in with Hindi or other regional Indian languages in Indian films.
India was, after all, a British colony for almost two centuries. Just like the U.S. of A. or Australia even. Had these regions not been invaded by the British, the people there would still be speaking their native languages as the norm.
On top of it, the characters in this film are urban yuppies. Of course they will speak in the same way.
I don't see that many Indian-movies, so thanks for clearing that up.
shareOn the other hand countries like Uganda and Gambia were also British colonies and do they mix long English phrases in their sentences like the Indians do?
