Let's list the plot holes

OK I start: they were gone for 9 hours partying @ Lollapalooza (Chicago), but it is 10 hours away from their home (Atlanta)! The machine is supposed to only bend time, not space.

"If you go back too far, then you're gonna be stuck there, for good!"

I recall hearing one of the guys saying this early on, but then it was never really touched on again. So they never exactly explained about what/why that was.

Could be an energy issue. If you use up too much energy on the jump into the past, you wouldn't have enough energy to return. So perhaps you always need to have at least twice the energy needed for a particular trip.

I don't know why they didn't stay in the past and relive those days. Maybe even invent Loogle.

Besides the ridiculousness of dozens of their versions missing, someone please tell me why was the chemistry presentation more important than winning the lottery: they went back numerous times to get the presentation right, but didn't go back to get the lottery numbers right.

reply

Maybe getting the lottery numbers was more difficult, as they had to interact with a lot of people and thus make significant changes. But while they were in school, they didn't really change much.

This movie is an abomination talking about holes on the time travel theory... you can´t ask any logic to it, and that´s why I think is one of the worst time travel movies ever made. It goes just for the fun of the idea, and didn´t even try to understand what will be happening if they really go back in time many times, like they do... So bad, being a time travel addict I had big expectations about it, what a dissappointment!
