Beautifully Done

I think from an entirely entertainment value this series is remarkable. The costumes, characters and scenery are remarkable and fabulous. Even better in terms of quality than many entirely fictitious "period" shows I've watched.

Historically, I feel it's a good overview and may interest the viewer into doing further research into an event or period of time they feel is interesting. I learned long ago to take History Channel "history" with a grain of salt lol.

The only thing that really mystified me was the choice of "expert commentary" I am fine with University professors and academics, but am not quite sure why the producers would include a nightly newscaster, and the ex Navy Seal and retired Marine who seem a little bit wacked out like they did too many roids or something. How exactly do they contribute to the knowledge base? Oh yeah they really don't. Funny to watch them though.
