Cancelled

I just finished the first two I had recorded and was looking to see when the next one would air and wouldn't you know it,cancelled.

reply

I wouldn't doubt that it's already been cancelled. I haven't heard anything but have no reason to doubt based upon how bad the first episode was. I never even saw the second but knew something was up when it disappeared from the listings on my DVR and was replaced with Penn & Teller specials.

Interesting premise though. I mean I've seen stories on the news about this, namely children of sperm doners whom search out the guy who contributed. But while I know it was overdone for comical reasons, the main character here was just really unlikeable and the show was just not ready. Can't believe it's doing well in it's original country...

Here's the thing, just because the CW cancelled the show doesn't mean that it's gone. You have to remember that "Seed" is a Canadian show......

reply

Yup, it's been cancelled.

reply

Only in the States, not in Canada.

"Ha, did he just call me a Luddite?"

The United States is a much bigger market which would have made the series profitiable. On the other hand MuchMusic cancelled LA Complex when CW wanted that series to be renewed.

reply

Certainly, but it still has not been cancelled in Canada. Corner Gas survived a great length of time solely on Canadian markets, I'm sure Seed can survive. It's not like it wasn't renewed for a second season before the States bought the rights to air the first season.

Corner Gas was a bonafide runaway hit and CTV had the Comedy Network to air repeats and reruns. CityTV along with Global treat their productions like crap and will give a series a max of two years to find an audience.

And the show hasn't been renewed, Adam Korson already confirmed this on twitter.
