An Americanized Ørnen (The Eagle)

If you want to see the inspiration (of sorts) to this series, watch The Eagle on Netflix. This show's origins have nothing to do with US TV. Am I the only one seeing this?

The American series is overly melodramatic (as is some of the acting), but there are definite plot parallels, stylistic points and production similarities.
