anybody noticed?

The similarities between gabbar is back and V for Vendetta?

reply

I was thinking exactly the same thing after wachtching Gabbar is Back. Really liked both of them

reply

I was thinking the same thing. V for Vendetta is one of my favorite movies. It's kind of a bit low grade sequel with bollywood masala. Excluding action which was awful.

reply

Gabbar is a remake of a Tamil film which was released in 2001, and V for Vendetta in 2005. Perhaps V for Vendetta's plot is stolen from that tamil movie, the thing you won't accept bcs you're a hollywood obsessed guy, who think every bollywood movie is a copy. I don't even know why people like you exist, if you don't like it don't watch it.

reply

GIB is not a scene to scene copy of the movie

its possible they copied a scene or similar scenes from V for vendetta

reply

How can they copy the scenes if GIB is the scene to scene remake of a tamil movie and that movie released before V for Vendetta, but i haven't seen V for Vendetta, but i think you guys are confused.

reply

I didn't say i don't like it. It is good movie but poor action. Also i haven't seen tamil movie you are talking but for me it's plot is similar to V for Vendetta.
And don't start judging people if their opinion is different from you. p.s give me link or name of that tamil movie you are talking about

reply

V for Vendetta comic book was published in the late 1980s

reply

The tamil movie name is Ramana it is directed by A.R Mururgadoss. Go check yourself, and yeah, i don't care abt your opinion, its just some people in imdb think all bollywood movies are copy of other hollywood movie and they don't see the fact that 90% of hollywood movies are also copy of movies from other languages.

reply

I don't know where you get your facts from but there are few hollywood movies which are copied from other languages(industry), other few are called re-make which is also stated. But 75-80% of bollywood movies are either copied from hollywood or tamil industry or just pure crap.

reply

I Second it.

reply

Even V For Vendetta the film was adapted from the graphic novel of the same name which came out way back in the 80s. Perhaps Ramana was inspired by that?

A minute ago this was the safest job in the world. Now it's turning into a bad day in Bosnia.

reply

Haven't seen V for Vendetta care to explain what is the plot they copied in this movie, and don't you think a director from tamil nadu copying a comic book from 80's which wasn't even released in india, is kind of a long shot and at that time internet connectivity wasn't so great either.

reply

I am not saying that Tamil movie is copy of that novel, haven't watched that Tamil movie.. But your argument is not that strong, a man can read all kinds of books, some books he likes and if he is a story writer, he can get his inspirations from anywhere.. It's not a long shot. People did know Pinocchio in 1995 i grew up hearing the story (along with all other, and i lived in a village) why can't a writer know about guy faux in 2001 especially when it's his job to search for ideas.

reply

On a separate note. You have to agree, Indian industry is not a place of original thoughts.. You rarely find it here. It sometimes shocks me to see some old Hollywood movies now that inspired Bollywood movies we watched in 90s and early 2000s. e.g. "Satte pe Satta" "Jaanbaaz" "Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar" "Kyun Ki... Mein jhoot nahi bolta" "Kaaante" etc..

reply

Good comment www-sri, movie is good, and no smarty can deny the fact!

reply

i love both Ramana and V for vendetta

Ramana was inspired by the corruption and political influences in the state/country.

dont compare ramana with v for vendetta, or v for vendetta with ramana. Both are entirely different tales.

I did a little digging and found out that whatever you're saying is truth and nothing but the whole truth. I am so ashamed of myself being a Hollywood obsessed maniac. I promise I will burn my Barry Lyndon copy today. Long live Bollywood.
