When will this air in the U.S.?

I know it aired in Britain this week . . .

It was broadcast in the UK last week (18th March).
Apparently it's not due for broadcast in the States (on the Science Channel) until the "fourth quarter" of this year. According to Variety, the US title will be "73 Seconds: The Challenger Investigation".

Thanks ...so stupid ...certain shows make it over here quick via BBC America, so the fact that this will take so long before getting here seems incredibly stupid.

And I don't know why it won't air on BBCA.

It's a co-production between the BBC and the Science Channel, so presumably part of the deal was that the Science Channel gets the US distribution rights. (IMDb appears to confirm that: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2421662/companycredits?ref_=tt_ft)

As to why the delay before the US premiere: who knows? Perhaps they're planning it as an "event" for the holiday season? I agree that it seems a ridiculously long wait, though...

Update:
IMDb are now listing the US premiere date as November the 16th, and that has been confirmed here:

Discovery have previously confirmed a November broadcast, and that it will be accompanied by the documentary "The Genius of Richard Feynman", narrated by William Hurt.

And the Press Review DVD comes up on ebay from time to time (suitable for USA players). There is one on ebay now.

For anyone still interested in this thread, both the movie and a documentary about Feynman are available on YouTube.
