Let's Talk About What We Do Not Want To...

The costumes.

Come on.

-The acting was spot on.
-The cuts were great.
-The dialogue was good. I'll forgive the bit about the armorer asking about guns & not about (guns and) calibers. (However retarded that was! It was just one problem!)
-The characters were interesting.
-I felt emotionally involved.
-The action was intense (apart from that unbelievable, retarded cross-falling-in-the-grave-bit).
-I really liked Ambrose!

I know it is hard to do.

I know.

But, come on.

i can't remember to forget you.

THe faces on the werewolves reminded me of the gargoyles from the 1990 Tales from the Darkside movie.

Well, they were designed by the same person, Robert Kurtzman and Creature Corps. Movie makers cannot really win in this genre. Do what we have seen before in other werewolf movies and be cut down for lack of originality. Alternatively, do a design off the beaten path and end up with strange looking werewolves, seen here in "Late Phases".

That makes sense that a costume designer from the 1990s would be in charge of the werewolf design for today. Those people who aren't fans of 70s, 80s, and early 90s horror can't appreciate the fact that horror creatures back then looked goofy. Not as goofy as monsters from the 30s-60s, but goofy, nevertheless. Still, they made some cool movies (or so bad, it's good movies) to offset the goofyness. By the way, look at what passes for good monster costume's these days: ghost children, pale Japanese girls with hair over their faces, CGI monsters, and found footage movies where you hardly ever see the monster but get a plethora of shaky-cam and people bickering with one another.

Yes!! I thought the same thing when I saw them at the end.

The werewolves in this movie were awesome.

They thought they were alone...

The costumes were bad. Practical effects are hard. That is why you have to TRY REALLY HARD.

Eh I thought they were fine. Scary enough and non-CGI so that's a plus on my book.

Bad Moon werewolf still gives me the heebie jeebies though.
