A decent horror movie ruined by terrible makeup

Between the leads painfully bad old age makeup and the werewolf suit this film is crushed under the weight of terrible makeup and special effects. It's sad too because all the lead rolls are really well acted and the story though borrowing heavily from Steven kings silver bullet is really beautifully crafted.

As these movies go, it was pretty well done. The transformation, the different angle for the story, the monster in shadow was above average for this type of movie. It only failed when the monster is seen in the light. Those shots are better off not shown unless you have big money for top shelf animatronics or cgi.

Yeah most of the movie worked for what it was going for, I agree. Only the awful 'were-rat' suit and the lead's acting dragged it down. God it was an awful suit though, just weird clumps of latex and hair. At first I was thankful they didn't use CGI, but then I saw the whole thing.

Why would they show it in full light so early in the movie? They should have saved it for the end, or preferably, not shown it at all. Everyone knows catching glimpses and pieces of it is scarier. Like you said, unless you've got a great suit - just avoid it entirely...

lmao - the werewolves in this movie were indeed the worst looking ones I've ever seen - and that is saying a LOT.

The worst was when the werewolf jumped on the car...you could see the suit bunch up and sag. lol

Cool transforming scene though. I dig the whole...shedding of human skin like the wolf in Hemlock Grove.
