her dress

not that I'm complaining or anything, but first, this style of dress, well sort of is back now.....so that's not really my issue

my issue is that she said that it was her mother's style...

what is she 25-30...now judging by that age, she would either have been born in 82 or 87, somewhere in the 80's....

which meant that her mom would have grown up in the 60's, 70's and 80's...

so where does the 40 and 50 style come from...that would have been more of the way her grandmother dressed, then her mom...

so I'm really not getting where that statement came from...that she dresses that way because of her mother......

artistic license!

If you assume her Mom was 30, that would have made her Mom a child of the 1950s with her style being formed during the early 1960s, more Breakfast at Tiffany's than hippie chick.

I see what you're saying. The character, being born in the eighties, would have remembered her mom's clothes from the eighties, unless the mom was still wearing clothes from the sixties. And yes, a lot of those clothes were early sixties, Jackie Kennedy-style clothes. Hoeever, being young when her mom died, her memories may have come from photo albums, pictures of her mom as a teen and young woman.

True, her mom would have grown up in the 60's.
