Kashmir OMG

This video supports my contention that the best rock music has already been done...and,this is the best rock concert recorded so far, and includes a version of "Kashmir" that will blow your mind...

I agree totally. Some songs were hit and miss and they totally nailed this one.
Kashmir is one of Plant's favorites and it showed. He laid it all out and I could not believe the 3 howls he belted out. This is the best version I have ever seen them do!

My buddy recently said "you know music sucks so bad now? Nobody does drugs anymore"

The version of Kashmir on this show is absolutely awesome. Then again, I thought all the songs were.

I wonder what happened to Page's Danelectro? That's what he usuallyplayed Kashmir on.

reply

Apparently he's retired it.

I was very impressed by Kashmir. On a lot of the other tracks, either they dropped the key so that Robert could reach the higher notes, or Robert just didn't try.

I was pleased when they started Kashmir in the right key... and even more impressed when Robert unflinchingly took on the high notes in the song's climax.

Yes, that sounded like Led Zeppelin at their best. Absolutely.

I get the feeling that Robert paced his voice, not wanting to use it up too much, because in the earlier songs he played it safe, whereas he let it go more in the later songs, mostly successfully.

I actually didn't mind Stairway and Rock and Roll being played a tone down: it let Robert Plant sound like Robert Plant.

Great gig.

On a second watching, "No Quarter" is also excellent. Jimmy really seems to be feeling it, and Robert handles all the notes in the right key.
