While admitted in a hospital for appendicitis, a young product demonstrator without any family bonds with an ailing matriarch. Upon their release, the mother brings the twenty-something into her quirky, bustling home where she is quickly welcomed and accepted as a new part of the household. When the extent of the matriarch's illness becomes clear, it falls to this new member of the family to care for her new friend, help with the house and children, and ultimately reaffirm humanity's generosity and innate sense of responsibility.
