Meh, but...eh.

There were some decent performances in this movie, but they were hamstrung by some awkward dialogue and cliched elements. But most of all, what could have been a pretty compelling story became just another stupid rapture movie, complete with dumbest rapture sequence ever (why does everyone turn into a glowing white ball before being caught up into heaven?)

I wish I could decree that there would be no more of these. Even if the idea of a pre-tribulation rapture were more than 250 years old (it's not!), that movie has already been done. To death.

That said, something about the way they left it hanging at the end (the "calm before the storm" with the hotel manager in his seat with the rifle and David A.R. White in bed and the motorcycle gang moving in) was kind of compelling and the performances and non-rapture story elements will be enough to convince me to watch part 2 when it comes out.

At the end of the day, with the one complaint, I think this movie (as most everything that White does) is a move in the right direction for Christian cinema.
