You guys crack me up

The writers make Christian movies. The actors are in a lot of Christian movies. You CHOOSE to watch this, and then complain that it has Christian themes.

The name even contains the name of the last book of the bible.

Get over it guys.

reply

So you want nonChristians to memorize the writers and actors from Christian films, instead of just putting somewhere in the film description something about it being a Christian film.

This is the entire synopsis from Netflix

After a crippling series of earthquakes throws the entire world into chaos, a traveling salesman will have to fight his way through a vicious outlaw biker gang known as the Barbarians to get home to his family.

That doesn't sound anything like a Christian movie now does it? This film is not being marketed honestly.

reply

Spot on.

reply

The plot keywords include, but not limited to, rapture, Christian and Christian film.

reply

If heaven means spending eternity with a whole bunch of Southern Baptists and other 'enlightened' folk then I'll take hell.

reply

You nailed it.

I have to say I despise contrived films like this. Poorly written, poorly directed, poorly shot, poor effects, and poorly acted.

And I'm a religious man myself.

reply

The spirituality movies always have a lot of stars too, it's like the fundies are spending all day high-rating these movies so the average person will be duped into watching them.

reply

There is no way anyone looks at the name of this film and doesn't know it is a God commercial. Come on now.

reply

Grandpa played the devil in a sit/com show called Reaper. Eric Roberts has been in skin-a-max type movies.

reply

For further reference, David A.R. White is only in Christian genre films and without realizing he was in it, when I saw the title I thought it was a Christian film. I'm fairly sure if I could read minds I would know you guys were and are lying. You knew it was a Christian film when you choose it and you choose it you had the intent of bashing it and all Christian genre films because you're bored.

Get another hobby loser.

reply

Exactly.

reply

Of course they knew it was a christian film. They are just a bunch of internet christian-hating atheist trolls... Propagading atheism is their only interest...

reply

Rather be an atheist than be in a child molesting organisation labeled religion.

I have yet to find ONE thing that makes me think "Hey, God does exist". Science has explained more than religion ever could.

BTW, Jesus wouldn't have had white skin like all pictures describe him as being. He would have been dark skinned like all arabs.

reply

Your way of thinking is childish, immature and a sign of obvious lack of historical education...

And who gives a damn if Jesus was dark skinned? Is this some kind of a madman's rant or what?

reply

If Jesus Is Born Black, He Would Still Be The CHRIST for all men.

reply

Hmmmmmmmm! I wonder if there ever has been an atheist that has molested children?

reply

Who are you to assume that people knew it was a christian film? get off your high horse and get a clue and stop accusing everyone of lieing. Some of the greatest liers are/were christian. look at 90% of priests and their constant need to touch little children. Christianity needs to get with the modern times and change their ways and stop basing everything off rules made centuries ago when the world was completely different.

I was raised christian, had it rammed down my throat at school, even had friends touched up by the local father. Was enough for me to realise its all a have and just another form of gang that band around each other and constantly break laws.

Religion is for the weak willed that can't think/act for themselves. Gotta have someone telling them what they can and can't do.

The world would be a better place without religion. How many wars are fought due to my god is better than your god attitude.

reply

If you really "had it rammed down (your) throat at school" and "even had friends touched up by the local father", you weren't raised 'Christian'. Catholic, maybe... but not 'Christian'.

I find it humorous that so many self-professed 'non-Christians' or 'atheists' have a far more caring and truly 'Christian' outlook on life and their fellow humankind than most of the self-professed 'Christians' that are so in-your-face and proud of how much Bible-thumping they do. Let your actions announce who and what you are, not your words... because they are going to anyway!

Catholicism is a part of Christianity, you stupid bastard.
And for the record, I'm an Atheist.
But despite not believing in any of that rubbish, I've done my homework on it all, for those moments when I interact with God-bothering morons like you.

reply

So said the trolling atheist...

reply

Your Argument is flawed. Plenty of movies out there with names/phrases from the bible that are not religious. Redemption to name one off the top of my head.

Eric Roberts a lot of religious movies? BAHAHAHA!
Ray Wise Played the devil in a tv show called reaper.
Brian Bosworth ? Does violent action bikey movies usually, not very religious.
Steve Borden Violent WCW wrestler.. I could keep going.

a couple of actors only do religious movies. Not most of the cast like you'd make us believe.

reply

We don't hate your God" They say, but come to give bad rates to Christian films, which is senseless. If to you God is like santa clause, then why consume your time debating against the existence of God? Many atheists are nothing but haters, mainly because you let yourself get influenced by satanic atheists. Yes, I discovered that while debating with many, they are pretty easy to identify, most of the time they will say the most horrendous things about the Christian God and try to influence you.

Giving an opinion of a film you have watched, but disliked is senseless? Seriously? It's only worthwhile to post positive reviews?

If to you God is like santa clause, then why consume your time debating against the existence of God?

Mostly because we spend so much time being assaulted by religious beliefs presented as fact, that when the subject comes up, we are forced to defend our position. In reviewing a film with a strong christian message, the subject has come up.

Many atheists are nothing but haters, mainly because you let yourself get influenced by satanic atheists.

Nothing but Haters???? Seriously? Perhaps frustrated that their beliefs are constantly assaulted, in contrast to many, far more fantastic beliefs being accorded protection under law and are expected to be accepted without question. As for the "Satanic Atheists" comment, it strikes me as so oxymoronic as to be ridiculously laughable.

Yes, I discovered that while debating with many, they are pretty easy to identify, most of the time they will say the most horrendous things about the Christian God and try to influence you.

I've not read the whole bible, and I have no intention to, but from what I was taught in school, and from what few conversations with various preachers I have been unable to avoid, it seems to me that the bible is enough of a source of "horrendous things about the Christian God" so satisfy anyone.

As I was taught, the "Christian God" is no more worthy of love and respect than, and indeed seems to share many traits in common with, an abusive parent.

reply

We don't hate your God. We hate your movies. Your "God" doesn't exist, so how can we hate him? That would be like hating Darth Vader, or hating Lex Luthor.

Christian movies suck for so many reasons, the heavy-handed message only being one of them. Amateurish acting, boring scripts, fake-sounding dialogue, awkward camera work, and cheap effects are others.

If I watch a movie and it is bad, I will leave a bad review. It doesn't matter what genre it is in.

While Revelation Road isn't bad in every conceivable way (Ray Wise turns in a decent performance, for one thing), it is still a pathetically bad movie. David A. R. White is not believable in his role. The plot is stupid. The script sounds like it was written by a group of third graders at a Bible camp for mentally disabled kids.

If you like the movie, post a good review. But don't criticize the reviews of others just because you disagree with them about their religious views. That is stupid. Just like Revelation Road is stupid.

reply

Corny Christian flick...liked it.
