God's Laws

Not being a Christian music follower, I had never heard about Rich Mullins. Reading the capsule bio at wikipedia I was struck by the unnecessary reason for his death - no seat belt.

Which led me to this thought ...

Learning the 10 Commandments is not enough for our time on Earth, the faithful need to learn some other of God's Laws - the Laws of Thermodynamics and the Laws of Kinetic Energy and Inertia.

God gave humans the brain to discover and comprehend these laws of His physical universe - shouldn't we pay attention?

Such as wear your seat belt? Mullins might be alive today. Remember the lesson of Princess Diana - the only survivor of that horrendous wreck was wearing a seat belt.

And there are plenty of times when wearing a seatbelt that you can be killed in a wreck. Two of my friends died either in the car accident or as a result of their injuries from the accident. Both were wearing seatbelts.

Yeah, Rich made a stupid decision that day, not unlike people all over the world every day. It's this thing called being human. I'm sure your life has been picture perfect. You've never once made a mistake that either hurt yourself or someone else. And no, it doesn't have to be physical pain or death.

To come around a board trolling the death of someone calling him, essentially, a Christian idiot is pathetic. He might not have the belief system you do. You might not like the fact that he was a Christian, and you might be laughing over the fact that someone like him died because he made a stupid mistake. That doesn't make you cool however. It makes you a heartless jerk.

I don't care about anyone's religion or lack thereof if they die for a stupid mistake. I feel bad for them, sure, but I wouldn't go around trolling their death just because I didn't agree with the way they lived, either.

Oh man... seriously? Rich has been gone for 16 years and you are going to talk about the seat belt issue? WE KNOW.

You should check out his stuff. His music, the things he wrote. There are really good interviews at YouTube.

I love him still. He changed my life - you don't know what it is like to have someone come in talking about a damn seat belt. He wasn't alone in that Jeep, would you like to write to Mr McVicker and tell him how dumb he was 16 years ago?

Man i just hate imdb. It used to be so different. This movie doesn't even have its premiere until Jan 2014 and people are already know-it-alls. Princess Diana, sheesh.

While it's easy to say Mullins was stupid for not wearing a seatbelt, you're obviously too young to know that there was a time when cars didn't have seatbelts.
