Did anyone prefer the movie versions of the songs over the originals?
I love Rich Mullins' music. I recently listened to his Ragamuffin album and it's a work of art. However, throughout this movie there were a couple of songs where I found myself actually preferring the "movie" version over the original. For example, the song "Verge of a Miracle" seemed far more moving with the stripped-down piano and somber vocals in the movie than the original.
I'm guessing this is due to the fact that Mullins was subject to record executives of the time, and therefore had to reflect contemporary pop radio, whereas the movie could actually make the music reflect how Mullins truly felt emotionally.
