Main Topic of Killers - SPOILER ALERT

Killers is definitely a stylish, well acted movie marred with amateurism in its storytelling and technical aspects. Nevertheless, I think everyone can agree that the star of the show is the relationship between the characters.

Whilst the movie itself didn't make any effort in masking out its inquisition about the nature of killing (and what can possibly drive an innocent person into committing it), I can't help but notice one common yet almost invisible theme among every major character: loneliness. The yearning to CONNECT with each other.

Take Nomura for instance: he's suave, charming, and can hook in any girl if he wants to. Obviously, for his identity's sake, he didn't and never pursued any serious relationship. But then he found two people with whom he felt connected: his struggling protege, who needed his advice, and the warm yet suffering Hisae, to whom he is vulnerable. Nomura knows Bayu needed him, no matter how much he denies it, and that feeling of being needed is what I think made Nomura stay with Bayu's descent into darkness.

That fateful night when Nomura first saw Hisae, however, was the moment Nomura saw someone he needed: someone who understood the need to kill, though the purpose would differ. Nomura's connection with Hisae is based on that grim understanding, that perhaps life IS pointless.

If you watch the whole movie, I'm sure you'd find more characters attributing to this idea of loneliness. But I'm also interested as to what people can take out from this movie.
