Prop Cigarettes?

I noticed several scenes in which cigarettes were wielded in ways that would be improbable (or possibly hazardous) to handle on a film set, especially when considering multiple takes per scene. An example would be the scene where Lorraine attacks Percival and flops him onto the bed before exchanging lines while he lies down face up with a cigarette in his mouth. Any idea how this was accomplished, perhaps a combination of practical props and CGI?
