No takers..? Maybe she is busy with other commitments ? Isn't winning a Tony the equivalent of an academy award..sooo.. why isnt it a shoe in for her not be offered the film ? Maybe she turned it down thst lightning doesnt strike twice.. Shame love her.. hope she weathers hollyweird.

Adapting a play into film is very hard, because it has to feel like a movie rather than a filmed version of a play. It's not a good idea to have the same cast, because they'll most likely play the parts the same way. It's also not a good idea for the play's author to write the script. Luckily, David Ives didn't write it alone.

plus, i read somewhere polanski's wife was begging him to work on another picture with her again. so this was his gift to her i assume.
