Wow! Such a good movie. So very well done. This movie had natural believable characters. Cold mountain was a bad anti-war movie but Copperhead was a good anti-war movie. If someone ponies up the money to fund Ron Maxwell's production of The Last Full Measure, I hope he nails the casting down as perfectly as he did in this film. Jeff Daniels will be too old to play Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain and Robert Duvall will be too old to play Robert E. Lee. I hope some younger fresh casting can be done for those parts and some of the others too.

I'm encouraged about the film work of Ron Maxwell and I look forward to seeing more historical films from him in the future.

I appreciate the perspective in this film of honest American citizens concerned about an over-reaching federal government that tramples on the constitution. I liked the pro preserve-the-union tone of the film Gettysburg but, this movie provided a fresh perspective on the war between the states.
