Aliens... Aliens everywhere!

I hope I'm not the only one to see the parallel's in this movie.

- The "gods" are twice the size of 'mortals'

- Horus had to go to space to see his grandfather on a ship as he watches him shoot lasers (or fire?) from a stick to kill some monster.

- The "gods" can transform into something other wordly

- The flying ships

the writers of this movie clearly took Egyptian myths and made a pseudo alien plot out of it.

It wouldn't be the first time people have suggested that "Gods" came from elsewhere by interstellar travel.
You've raised a good point

...and today we believe interstellar travel is used by aliens to shove things up our many orifices. Go figure.

Chariot of the Gods...

think the history channel will make an episode of this movie? haha... I think Chariot of the Gods actually refers to Indian mythology though

I've heard a few theories.

Truth be told I wouldn't know which to believe.

One theory was that aliens are the ones who created life. Through generations the stories keep changing til it's a guy who looks like Gérard Butler riding a chariot and horse through the sky with wings on it, but in reality it was a space ship.

I've heard another theory about fallen angels/demons/ the devil. They pose as aliens to make people believe life can exist in another part of the universe.(those orbs you see in the sky in those ufo videos, similar to spiritual orbs that may be in a haunted house.) Because if most bible thumpers find out life exists elsewhere it would challenge their faith in god. People lose faith, it's easier for Satan to gain control. The whole anti Christ thing. They're from another dimension rather than another planet.

Its a video game/popcorn movie, does it really matter how authentic it is? Yeah it has its weird sub plots and messages in it about God/Humans but so what, the movie looks and feels like a video game. I think people are reading way too far into this. LOL, God... The Devil lol...

God is imaginary friend for Grownups, lol...

They are legitimate gods. This is just not an Earth reality based movie. It's a fictionalized Egypt inspired by their ancient religion.

I kept looking for some kind of alien reference in the movie, and as soon as I saw the sun obelisk thing Horus was praying to it kind of reminded me of Stargate. I don't suppose the similarity was intentional, but I made that connection regardless.

It does remind me of the Stargate. They should have made it shaped like a triangle, as a reference to the pyramids.

Sticking the granddaddy up on an actual space ship pretty much sealed the deal for me that the Gods were aliens.
