Fakest Dog Training Show Ever!

I've watched shows on Animal Planet, where dog trainers such as Victoria Stillwell & the rehabilitation trainers on "Animal Cops" all seem to know what they're doing, & there's no need to do a ton of editing to show the dogs reacting naturally to what they're being [re-]taught. I mean, you really can do the training techniques they use & they work :).

Just the first episode of THIS show turned me off flat, b/c the host of the show doesn't seem to have ANY idea what he's doing, & looks more like an actor that's acting as a front-man for REAL dog trainers who are working behind the scenes to make him look good.

Just the fact that he LOOKS like a celebrity tipped me off, or the fact that his dialogue sounds scripted raised a warning flag as to the quality of the show. That & the fact that his first client (the redhead who imprisoned her dog in her office) was more of a dog than her pet.

Victoria Stillwell NEVER let owners like that get her down, whereas Mr. I-Spend-More-Time-on-My-Looks-than-Dog-Training was really letting b!tcherella run circles around him about how to deal w/ her misbehaving dog. (I would have loved seeing HER locked in that kennel for 24 hrs & let the dog ruin her office).

This show gets 5 thumbs down, & I hope it sinks before a crappy 2nd season is smeared onto the tv screen.

Maybe instead of hating the show just watch something else? Of course there will be scripted scenes and people brought in to get the show going but I'm sure that the next season will feature more general people like the lovely family with the small dog in a later episode.

Either way this is a feel good show instead of the usual drama or X factor type. Maybe enjoy it for what it is instead of what it isn't.
