I actually love these parodies

I’m going to hang on to my logic pride stick, thank you. The reason people hate these films is not because they’re simply bad. We hate these films because they’re not really films. They're just a million unrelated references to popular movies and culture, and then maybe someone will get kicked in the balls or crushed by a rock. These films are dumbing down comedy and taking away funding from other better films that intelligent and funny people put effort into. Because this garbage gets put out we’re missing something better.

And I enjoy brainless popcorn flicks too. They can be fun. But there’s a difference between turning my brain off to enjoy something and the creators actively insulting me because they assume I’m an idiot. These movies don’t deserve to be made and it’s irritating when they’re continuously vomited up by these jackasses.

Your argument is that we, as a society, should allow for comedies to lack intelligence and actual wit because they reference pop culture? As stupid as culture can be at times, there should be at least minimal thought behind it. I'll be keeping my pride stick, thank you very much. Friedberg and Seltzer just have setups and no punchlines. A spoof movie like "Airplane!" actually pays off most of the time.

You do realize these are not films nor spoofs. They're just 90 minutes of unfunny pop culture references and product placement, it's like watching a 90 minute Infomercial! Hell, I find those infomercials funnier than these abominations of films.

It's not uncommon for a parody show to go for the lowest common denominator and just randomly spoof pop culture the writers haven't even seen, but the directors don't seem to care about the major flaw in their movies: they're movies. They make fun of things that would make sense on a weekly tv show making fun of topical humor, but if you make a movie like this that you expect people to pay for and laugh at, you not only have to do a good job, you have to do that job fast. Take this movie. It makes fun of Gangnam Style and (based on the characters listed) LMFAO. It comes out in November, and I've barely heard or thought anything about them in months. This movie is aimed at people who latch onto current trends, but they've probably moved on by now. It not only isn't funny, it just doesn't work.

They're not parodies. Blazing Saddles is a parody. Airplane is a parody. These aren't.
