Disregard the negativity, this movie was great!

The overly bad acting by the lead boy and his sidekick was simply part of the humor, I was amused by it. The rest of the cast was just fine. The fat red headed bully was especially awesome, nearly every word was punctuated with a ridiculous facial expression that made me laugh every time. Overall it's a feel good movie, even more so if you enjoy the whole '80s scene.

I agree, the movie is great. The kids just seemed like normal kids to me. I thought the filmmakers really nailed the '80s vibe!

And it was nothing like this. The bully was not reminiscent of a "good looking" guy as he was supposed to be. It was a terrible story transplanted into an era that could have made it so much better. The music was okay, but there should have been some bigger hits to sell the time period. I mean, unless you're playing On the Dark Side by John Cafferty, why play anything by him?

The biggest plus in this film was the use of the boom box and how "big" was always better. Thought it was a cool touch. Also they missed out on the belt fad for the girls during that time period. We wore belts around our long shirts.
