Can someone explain the relationship between these two men in the movie. Need this for a class.

Paulo says he loves the other guy. The other guy says he doesn't love Paulo, but it is clear both of their affections toward one another grow as time goes on.

I'd suggest watching the movie instead of asking questions about it online.
