You'd think with that kid being knocked off his bicycle and having to be rushed to the emergency room with major brain damage he would of been hit at full speed by the car. The guy gently grazed the kid at most from his side view mirror. Not saying he should of lied but it was hard for me to believe that he caused that kid to be that badly hurt.
I think the idea was that the film was giving us the perspective from an "alcohol - affected" Mal, whose dulled senses told him that he'd barely touched the cyclist, when in reality the collision may well have been more direct. 🐭
shareA neighbor of mine in 1980 was found in his car, barely in a ditch by a creek. Not a scratch on his car. He was found unconscious half sprawled onto the passenger seat. Tests revealed he took a blunt blow to the top of his skull. The ONLY thing they found in the car was a crack/dent in the plastic upright between his windshield and the front passenger window. He must have been distracted, wasn’t wearing his seatbelt and went off the road.
Three days later they took him off life support. Shouldn’t even been hurt in an accident like that and it took his life.
People die every day after hitting their head on something, including pavement.
