Are US navel destroyers made of cheese?

I know this show is not exactly a beacon of realism, but a little mine/IED wiping out the engines and basically killing the ship? Well, I suppose they do crumple in real life as the recent two accidents have shown. Seriously, no proper battery backup for weapon systems? You've got to be kidding me.

Unless this is some kind of reverse propaganda to make the US appear weak.

Also, whoever is responsible for sound effects needs to be shot. Dubbing some shitty machine gun fire over the beastly CIWS. Criminal.

The damage did seem excessive but I don't know anything about naval ships.

The OP was asking about navel ships...not naval ships. ;-)

LOL. Fair point. Maybe he has cheese in his navel.

Considering the bottle rockets they were firing at the Nathan James, damn right the damage seemed excessive. That was the lamest show I have ever seen ... those guys jumping out of the sheer cliff on Gibraltar ... give me a break. Not to mention Eric Dane/Tom Chandler cock-a-doodle-dooing his way to break Capt. Kirk's ham acting ... ugh, lame.
