Spielberg is NOT directing Saving Lincoln.

Let me start by saying that I loved this documentary. But there was one weird error that I just have to mention. At the end of the movie, it states what each actor is doing now. Two of the actors, Bruce Davidson and one other (I'm sorry, I forgot which one), are said to be working on Steven Spielberg's movie based on Bill O'Reilly's book, "Saving Lincoln." There IS a movie in production, based on Bill O'Reilly's book, but Steven Spielberg is NOT directing that movie. He is making a different movie about Lincoln, called "Lincoln," partially based on the book "Team of Rivals" written by professional historian, Doris Kearns Goodwin. (As if longtime liberal activist Spielberg would participate in any movie based on a book by O'Reilly. The mind boggles.)

This is a mistake that slipped past us. The confusion was no doubt caused by the fact that Gregory Itzin is in Spielberg's LINCOLN, while Bruce Davison is in SAVING LINCOLN, the Salvador Litvak project.

you all do realize that on most movies they play musical chairs with who is going to direct what for a long time before the production actually gets started...

It aired on Showtime with the mistake, but it has been fixed for the Netflix streaming version.
