NOTHING to do with financing; could have been great.
This is NOT a documentary. It's 1.5 hours of "remember the good old days" banter between directors and actors (filmed over coffee or in hotel rooms) about their experiences getting past movies made; old stale FAQs we don't already know from IMDB or Wikipedia. There is NOTHING about financing films except for the oft-repeated "will you give us 15 grand?" joke that gets old and lame fast.
It would have been more suited as a YouTube clip or filler for Showtime. The unfortunate thing is that this COULD have been a hard-hitting and insightful documentary about the brutal realities of film financing - had it not been made by two Hollywood insiders who dared not bite the hands that feed them.
