Season 2 New Format

So season 2 has a new format I haven't made up my mind whether I prefer it to Season 1, it's a big change from season 1 tho which I found to be more procedural, this season feels more like Homeland.

I didn't like the jumps from a timeline to the other, it got me confused.
So far I'm not liking the new direction looks a lot cheaper than last season.

Just watched the season two premiere and I like what they have done so far. They couldn't have carried on the way season one was structured as he is now on the run in a different continent and still trying to piece his identity together, so of course he will interact with new characters, the loss of the season one regulars is no issue for me. Certainly has a more espionage Bourne type feel to it now, I look forward to seeing where it goes from here.

This season is so far incredible. The premiere was great. The jumping around timelines will probably confuse a lot of people, but that means on repeat watches we can catch something that we missed before. It gives it a sort of re-watchability that the first season was lacking (except for the Pilot). This is what I had imagined the show to be like from the beginning. We are in for a great 10 episodes I think :)

Sean Bean's must see roles: Accused, TLOTR, Ronin, Clarissa, Essex Boys, GOT, Sharpe, Black Death

On first sight the jumping seemed an unnecessarily complicated way to tell the story. But in hindsight I have to agree: it offers some gaps to fill during the season, make things seem different, without the usual implausible plot twists... perhaps a bit what the rather linear first season was missing entirely.
Also the fractures style resembles what the character knows about himself. This show has switched from something easily followed on a second screen to a story which needs attention.

I hope this also marks the end of the weekly Sean-Bean-plays-someone-other-than-Sean-Bean-but-still-is-totally-looking-like-Sean-Bean-parade, which became implausible in the first six episodes already...

Agreed. This new season rocks. I love the European action. International spy dramas are my cuppa, this season is exactly what I love to watch. I am not confused by the time jumps, they make you pay attention more & think more deeply about the show, it's not mindless escapism entertainment. It's also relevant. Very well done.

Having seen Episode 1 of Season 2, it indeed feels more serial compared to Season 1, which was more procedural.

It's also very likely due to the nature of it being more serial, it is more likely that they will only stick with only one Legend this season: Dimitry Petrovich, whereas in Season 1, for every case, Martin had to adopt a different Legend such as : Lincoln Dittmann, Dante Auerbach, Sebastian Egan, Len Barlow, John Cameron.

Of course, for those wanting to see several Legends in one season, having just one this season may be disappointing, but I take in the positive that we get to see more of Dimitry Petrovich's character, persona more fully developed, instead of just getting a "taste" of the character in the limited 1 episode (or 2 episodes).

Looooooove the new format! love it. This retooling is a huge upgrade.

I liked season 1 much better although I am starting to get into season 2 a little more after the second episode. I liked him as an undercover agent taking down bad guys vs being the hunted. Don't care for the Petrovich legend and don't want to see the 15 year old girl becoming a muslim and treating her mom like crap. Kind of wish they would go back to the states. I'll keep watching though as he is an interesting character.

I like nothing about season 2.

If he cannot figure out his past, then he needs to be a professional, and just STFU, and move on to his next job, or retire and work in a bakery in France, and be happy to be alive.

The idea of some dumbass former assassin/CIA operative walking around the mall trying to find friends is totally ridiculous, and it is just going nowhere interesting.

I'm no fan of season 2. It is an entirely different show, they aren't either related.

I liked the procedural nature, the different characters he would play, the tension of being under cover, and the rest of the cast.

All of that is gone. And to top it off, the new format is not good. Too many different players, timelines and jumps between them it makes it hard to get into the story, or follow it for that matter.

Biggest fail since 'Rogue' went rogue.

Sadly, I think the season 2 format is too much trouble. I liked season 1 a lot, so I'm making the effort, but I bet a lot of people aren't going to be willing to.

It really doesn't matter because the ratings are abysmal, less than half of what they were for season one. The show is done after this season.

These major reboots rarely if ever work.

Yeah, they blew it and now "Legends" is history. Personally, I found season two about as compelling as watching paint dry. I really liked season 1 and was looking forward to mo-better work from Bean in season two. Somebody decided to screw that up. But even so, I still think it's a shame they cancelled it. There was so much potential there.

And comparatively, just watching one episode of "Outsiders" makes season two look like cinematic genius.

I'm bored with season 2 halfway in, it's moving too slow, I feel like they could've told this story in 2-3 episodes and moved on to another part of his past, would've made it much more entertaining, uncovering his past legends in each episode instead of each season. Waiting to see what happens with a bunch of dry characters I don't care about is feeling more like a chore than entertainment. If this is all they did with season 2, I don't blame them for cancelling.
