Who got the life insurance money?

And who owns the farm at the end of the movie?

reply

Diane got the money, but used it on Bens Lawyer.

I know, it broke my heart:(

Also, you could tell that Libby had just hoarded all of her family's things, without looking at them or going through them. She just completely walled up everything that happened before that night, mentally and physically.

They're coming to get you, Barbara!

I would imagine the bank ended up with the farm since Patty was about to go under with it anyway, and I doubt Diane had the money to save it.

Diane got the money and used it all for Ben's lawyer. The bank got the farm and now the farm is run by unknowns. I believe this is the same as in the book.

Answer to both: Chuck Norris.

'Chuck Norris'...???!   

I was kind of feeling sorry for you on your CGM thread (mainly because you were never really rude back and you sounded so sad...) but dude, you are frigg'n hilarious! 

I now have over 7000 films; many of them very rare and OOP. I LOVE to trade. PLEASE ASK! 

That's right, Chuck Norris stepped in and kicked everybody's @$$, and the ones that weren't killed faked their deaths to hide from him.

Geez, I guess I would too... 

As explained by Nicholas Hoult's character, he wasn't really a hitman, he was a serial killer. He killed a little girl for kicks, would you expect he would charge her mother for it? The Angel of Debt thing was just a way to enable his murderous instincts and justify them internally.

In the novel, Libby got the insurance money when she turned 18, but blew most of it away, hence her current situation. We are talking big funds here: three hundred thousand plus dollars. In the end, a new family moved into her former home. Bittersweet.
