This movie centered first on Linda Keith and Kathy Etchingham so much that I think the title is misleading. Hendrix comes across as a secondary character to the lives of these two characters so much so that they movie should be named for them
shareI completely agree. I thought the movie was terrible. No original music, focused mostly on 1966-67 and the girlfriends Jimi had at that time and takes place almost exclusively in London.
shareWell nothing wrong with it taking place mostly in London, as that's where Jimi established himself after his country of birth had failed to notice his genius.
As for the lack of original music, you'll have to argue with the so-called "Hendrix Estate" who barred the use of any of his compositions.
Apart from that, it seems Kathy at least would agree that the movie is terrible, she didn't ask for it to be made and was not consulted at any stage. I haven't seen it myself and don't feel that inclined to after what I've been reading.
