You really have to be a fan...

To watch a movie about Hendrix with zero Hendrix music. Which is why I didn't see it in the theatre.

But I did rent it. And I gotta give them props for
1. Andre's acting. He really made me feel like I was watching Hendrix.

2. Giving a plausible explanation for Jimi's (to put it mildly) 'unusual' personality. When I was a kid I always used to think the guy was just high all the time. But the movie actually made me see it differently. I'm not sure their portrayal is 100%, but it seems reasonable. Well done for the writing.

On the whole, however? With no Hendrix music, it's a suicide mission. 6.5.. and that's being generous.
