Boycott this massive lie

Hendrix girlfriend said that Jimi never struck her, that it was made up to sell the movie, which when you think of it, is hilarious. No Jimi Hendrix music. LOL.

She may say that now, but she told a different story that involved Hendrix hitting her repeatedly with a phone many years ago. In her version, John Lennon and Paul McCartney intervened to stop Hendrix. There are other accounts of him becoming violent. It was brought on by heavy boozing. His estate nowadays and publicists at the time have gone to great measures to cover this up. This movie has received heavy criticism for supposedly fabricating a portrayal of Hendrix as violent but there are accounts of it and I think Kathy either hated seeing it portrayed on screen or was requested to speak out against the depictions of that side of Hendrix in the film. It's not pretty but not entirely made up as many suggest.

Others have spoken of violence from Jimi though and it is documented. Even if we do accept that the incident portrayed never happened, it does still seem that very similar incidents did occur elsewhere involving different people.

It does seem to be documented that he did badly beat a girlfriend when drunk, as well as other incidences of violence when drunk - you can't really wish that away I'm afraid.

FIRST this movie is heavily based on the "Charles Cross" booo, which I read, and has the same dialguoe..So, to me it's real. (I've real ALL Jimi's Bio's)

SECONDLY. If I were to tell you a scene or a day, that happened between me and my girlfriend, even If I being 100% objective she'd say it's a lie.

How many times, do you watch a movie at the cinema with your girlfriend, and later when you discuss the movie, you're thinking "Did we just see the SAME MOVIE?"

So, no! This MOVIE IS VERY,VERY,VERY ACCURATE

Hahahaha "This Movie is very, very very accurate". The acting was great and (possiblbly) so was the Charles Cross book you read. But were you even alive when Jimi Hendrix was? I was - but I would never claim this movie was very, very, very accurate for the reasons you later stated jedcoleho. When was any movie, even a non-Hollywood one, that accurate. We all know what liberties are taken for dramatic effect. As for dialogue - from 48 years ago, no chance. Most people couldn't remember their exact words even if they were keeping a daily diary!

Man... I've read almost EVERYONE HENDRIX BIO.

This IS ACCURATE.

Are you from the HENDRIX ESTATE(the HENDRIX ESTATE does include his brother LEON or the friends who've helped him out.. IT's a adopted white girl, from AL HEDNRIX's SECOND MARRIAGE. who inherited the HENDRIX ESTATE... Let's not Forget that AL HENDRIX didn't even give a proper burial to Jim's Mother)

Look, we all love Jimi but he was a deeply flawed human being like the rest of us. He had substance abuse issues - probably like most of who are Hendrix fans to begin with. I don't anyone who's into the rock'n'roll lifestyle who isn't. *beep* even John Lennon had his violent moments. None of these guys were saints. So smoke a doob and relax. Personally I'm glad they showed Jimi as a flawed human being.

I'd like to point out something...

Many years ago, I was awoken early in the morning by my friend calling on the phone.

He said What did you do? Huh? You're on the front page of the paper!

My cousin and I have the same name. I live on the same street as his parents. He was a drug addict and broke into some old guys apartment, beat him, robbed him and got arrested. He gave his parents house as his address.

I was outraged! I contacted the paper and told them he did not live on my street!

They printed a tiny retraction about the size of a thumb in the bottom left of the next days paper.

Do you know how many people, to this day, 30 years later are still spreading around I beat and robbed an old man? When confronted one guy was adamant. We actually brought him a copy of the next days retraction. He felt horrible, he had been spreading this around about me for 30 years! You'd be surprised how many people who never actually read the article, act like they did, from hearing the account second hand.

People I was friends with, and haven't seen for 30 years are cold and aloof. I realize why.

So when somebody who was there, and was so close that they were in an intimate relationship with the person and disputes a bunch of loose claims I tend to take their testimony first, and you'll need to back up the outer persons claim a little more thoroughly.

Especially when the writer of a quoted bio retracted!!! and despite his retraction...several nitwit people were just using his claims in this god damn thread, alone!!!!!!!!
