Does anyone remember what's going on?

I'm still enjoying the show because I like Terry and Hildy so much, as well as the Siletti arc, but I have completely lost the thread about the murder they are trying to solve.

It's becoming an afterthought. The guy that was killed that was a suspect in the murder of the QB had some info on a phone that he mailed to his lawyer for safekeeping. Now all they have to do would be to crack the password for the phone and they will find out who killed him. It may have to do with Alicia Barnes.

I don't think their investigation has progressed a lot. So far they've had a lot of suspects and their leads have been dead ends. It's probably more realistic than the investigations that are wrapped up in 45 minutes but it is a bit frustrating.

I think that's what they were going for. A realistic police investigation. But, were so used to the 43min thing that's all we want.

I agree, the suspects all have some kind of bizarre connection to the victim, it's kind of fun to find out all this stuff as suspects come and go. The sex with daddy was the top weirdest one of them all.

This ep was weird. I watched last week and the way they moved the story along I had forgotten a lot, too. It was like they didn't reference enough to throw back to previous parts of the case. Pretty disjointed, but then again the season overall has been a mess. It definitely didn't have the feel of a second to last ep of a season.

Yes, I was shocked to find out that tonight's episode was the season finale. The whole thing just kind of meandered along, and then suddenly it's over.

reply

Okay, I just finished the finale, what was that ? I previously said in this thread that they took their sweet time to solve the case, but now they pulled the same "recording ex-machina" as they did in season one when the super careful paranoid Erich Blunt inexplicably forgot to search the guy he was talking to and decided for some reason to confess his crimes to him when he was under no pressure to do so. And now Alicia's father gets conviniently recorded making the deal to place a hit on Normandy ? Come on, that's lazy.

They tried to stretch out the murder plot to last the season. Problem is they make it so convoluted it is hard to follow. They add too many people and don't remind you along the way who they are. It's not that folks want it wrapped up in one episode, imo anyways. You lose interest when you can't follow along.
Totally agree with OP. Hildy and Terry I really like...and Mario was an absolute delight this season..his story was fun to watch.
