Ep. 7....So Hildy is a *itch!!

the way she treated Terry at the end of the ep was pretty bad. he didn't deserve that.

reply

IA Hildy was so wrong for treating Terry like that, all he did was give her daughter a nice birthday present, Terry wasn't thinking about the cost he was thinking w/his heart b/c he loves that little girl. She got too pissy w/Terry and the way she talked to him was *beep* up.

reply

Hildy is so afraid of letting Terry in her heart that she doesn't understand that its OK. I think she is trying to be independent because her family and drunk Ex are people she has been abandoned by or people that she was close to that let her down. She doesn't recognize that he is different.

I thought the same thing. If I were him I think I would try to stay in homicide but transfer to another precinct. Yes, maybe he should have checked before giving such an expensive gift but I think he did it out of caring for the little girl and he could afford it. I liked them together but geez he can do way better. He needs to move on.

Poor Hildy just doesn't know what to fight with Terry about anymore. I don't think the Ipad was to impress Hildy or the daughter - she already likes him, but maybe he wanted to give her something more than a book this year.

I think that Hildy was bitchy because she didn't want her daughter to think less of her alcoholic father, because she got the best gift from Terry. Hildy is like every stressed out single parent (either single father or single mother) with a child at that borderline age - wanting to keep the child from knowing the full truth about their degenerate other parent while still wanting them to believe that the degenerate parent cares about them first (her father cares about his alcohol addiction first, then himself in general, who knows how he thinks about his daughter, or if he is ashamed when sober about his actions while drunk, so drinks more and that just hurts everyone).

Hildy knows that Terry will be there for her, and since she she knows he isn't going to let an argument like that break them up (since they were/are friends and colleagues first), she can go nuts on him and know that he will understand the reason behind it. Also, he has more money than Hildy, since his overhead is so much less, that he would want to give the daughter something (the iPad) that her peers at school probably have, and it could also help with her school work (if used with proper parental controls).

Hildy has become extremely unlikeable. She's always crabby, lacking any sense of humor, and really different than season 1.

I like how terry sometimes just smile at cranckyness

I know what it's like to be under that kind of stress. I tried to cover it up, but sometimes, the effort becomes overwhelming. Hildy is afraid of losing control in so many ways. She's also trying to deal with a rebellious teen and pressures at work to keep her relationship with Terry professional. That's a lot of juggling. She's also probably perimenopausal.
