The "Service" Industry

My favorite part of the movie was the depiction of "service" given by the different employees. All their lines were so predictable and cliche. We find out later that Michael is a so called expert on it and the hotel had taken some of his "expert advice" which makes the cliched conversations and annoying encounters even more laughable and ironic.

Whenever I travel in the US, I always laugh and cringe at the predictable lines that come out of service workers' mouths, especially at hotels and with airlines. I've been in a lot of different service industries and have always made an effort not to sound like everyone else. I had quite a few laughs watching Michael encounter these various drones especially in the first third of this movie.

It was an interesting movie, which is much more than I can say for many of the things coming out of Hollywood these days.
