You mean the salad and the salmon, right? I think it was just a lapse of time that wasn't shown in the movie between when he ordered it and later, when he went downstairs to meet his old girlfriend Bella for a drink.

But then again, maybe the meal didn't arrive as just another symptom of his disappointment and disillusionment with the world and its people. Because when he was with Lisa the next morning, the breakfast he ordered arrived immediately.

He already had his fill from Lisa so he must have cancelled the order. 
