As someone who loves 2LDK...

I wasn't bored at all while watching Roommate Wanted and was actually quite entertained.

I'm a bit Alexa Penavega fan from Machete Kills and Repo! the Genetic Opera, so they already had me onboard. I think her work in this movie is some of her best since those two films.

Before I started watching it, I was a little put off by the large castlist on IMDB for the film. The beauty of 2LDK was seeing two roommates progress into all out violent psychosis against each other. I'd say that, with maybe the exception of including Alexa's character's ex-boyfriend, most characters are used right at the beginning to set things up.

Now, how is the fighting between the films? Both are brutal, but Roommate Wanted also throws in a little bit more graphic language than the Japanese film... plus a dildo as a weapon. It works and it keeps the same dark comedy tone as the original in my opinion.

I think what I like best is that while bost movies end with both characters dying, they are handled in drastically different and "ironic" ways.

So I'd say it's not quite as great as 2LDK was, but it's definitely worth a rental or a view when it's on Netflix/Hulu if you like dark comedies, brutal girl fights, or a cameo appearance from the grandfather from Grounded For Life. 7/10
